FW: Bad Habit

I guess my number one bad habit is one I try to let go of, but I always do it. And it happens here at Notre Dame! I definitely know for sure that I am not thte only one like this. So, my bad habbit is a dual set of procrastination and late work. Alright, I really don’t know how to explain this! Whenever I get work, I ALWAYS have to look at the assignment given to me and then decide, should I do this now or later? 99.9% of the time is later because I never feel like doing work immediately after I’m done with class or whenever I have free time. I just want to have some fun and step away from school. Well that never works! I’ve done Essays last minute, assignments last minute, and study for tests/exams last minute. But I’m not mad at my7self for this because even though I procrastinate and do everything at a very late time, I get the work done making me feel somewhat accomplished. I just pray it’s good and I get a decent grade for it (Which I always do. Usually an A and sometimes B’s). But yeah, I really just wish I can work with my brain and get the work done whenever I can. Doing this could affect my life out in the real world after college and this semester, many professors aren’t receiving late work after a certain day/time so this is really a wake up call for me to focus on myself, my work, and to probably fix my habits.

FW: Cats or Dogs?

Alright, so personally I prefer dogs! Reason? not sure actually haha. I just adored dogs! As of today, I am not a pet owner, but if fish count, then sure! So, back in 2008 we did have a dog! His name was “Gavino” and since we are a Hispanic family, we gave him a Hispanic name. I absolutely miss that dog so much and i’ll talk later about what happened to him. So, he was a small, black fur, curly haired dog who was quite energetic. Everywhere I went, he followed! It was so adorable! Years and years kept passing with the dog and we all still loved him. Took great care of him, went for walks, fed him, played with him, let him sleep on our beds,

…until the day he had to go. So I was at school at the time when my dad gave the dog to my grandpa to take to California (which is where he lives) so when I got home, he was gone. I felt sad because I loved the dog so much, but in the back of I head, I had a feeling that I would see him again! I never did. So when my grandpa had Gavino at his house in California, he actually sold him for cash. Who knows? Could he still be alive? Is he with a better person? Is he treated the same or worse then how he was with us? I honestly do hope I see him again though. I guess now I realized that because I had a dog in the past, I prefer dogs over cats. And I got a little thing to say about cats….

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
